Ram Jal Setu Project to aid 40% of state: CM
Jaipur, April 9 -- Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma inspected the under-construction Chambal aqueduct under the Ram Jal Setu Link Project on Wednesday, hailing it as a game-changer that will deliver drinking water and irrigation to nearly 40% of the state's population across 17 eastern districts.
Describing the project as one of the state government's most significant initiatives, Sharma said it will ensure adequate availability of drinking water and irrigation facilities across 17 districts of eastern Rajasthan. "Nearly 40% of the state's population will benefit from this project," he said, underlining its large-scale impact on both urban and rural regions.
The chief minister directed officials to maintain high construction quality and ensure timely completion of all works. He emphasised that the Chambal aqueduct is a key component of the Ram Jal Setu Link Project and instructed authorities to carry out regular monitoring of the ongoing construction.
During the visit, officials briefed Sharma on the project's progress. The aqueduct is being constructed over the Chambal River between Peepalda Samel village in Kota and Guhata village in Indergarh tehsil of Bundi district, with a total length of 2,280 metres. It will be built on 5,060 piles and 77 pile caps, with around 384 circular piers forming its structure....
