Rajasthan will be industrially strong and culturally enriched by 2047: CM
Jaipur, Dec. 11 -- The state government's goal is to make Rajasthan an industrially strong and culturally enriched by 2047 to be a key contributor to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a Developed India, chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said on Wednesday, inaugurating the summit on Prawasi Rajasthani Divas-2025 at JECC in Jaipur's Sitapura.
"Rajasthan's growth lies in its amalgamation of tradition and culture. We have opportunities in several sectors to contribute to a Developed India. No matter wherever the Rajasthanis go, they are still attached to their homeland. Their contribution is key to our development. By 2047, Rajasthan will be an industrially strong, and culturally enriched state with a combined effort by all of us," the CM said during the event.
On December 9, last year, the BJP-led Rajasthan government had organised the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit on the very first year of forming the government after winning the assembly election.
During the event, CM Sharma has declared that the government will mark December 10 as "Prawasi Rajasthani Divas" and will organise a summit every year to fetch investments in various sectors while it will also help the migrated Rajasthanis stay in touch with their own state.
"Of the Rs.35 lakh crore investments that we received last year, at least Rs.7 lakh crores have already been groundbroken. We are committed to the development of our state and also kept our promises. To bring the migrated Rajasthanis on a single platform, we have also set up separate department for Domestic and Overseas Rajasthani Affairs (DORA) recently. While visiting various countries and states, we have seen the commitment of our migrated people to this state. It is our responsibility to give them opportunities to contribute for the growth of our state," said chief minister Sharma.
He has also declared that the Rajasthan Foundation will now be expanded to nine more countries: South Africa, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and Canada along with five more states: Punjab, Haryana, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, and Kerala to include more Prawasi Rajasthanis.
"With these, we will now have a stronger network of our own people across 40 regions in the world," he said.
The CM also said that the government is all set to announce a slew of policies during the event including for AI-use, aerospace, defence sectors' development, and land purchase to ensure ease of business for the people who will invest in various sectors in Rajasthan.
"We have always said that our people, who have remained successful across the world, should only focus in their work. It is our responsibility to provide them with a suitable environment to build an industry," Sharma added
Highlighting the state's growth in different sectors, the CM said that a Rs.26,000 crores project under ERCP (modified Ramjal Setu project) has already been initiated by the government to address the water shortage issue in Eastern Rajasthan.
"Rajasthan is always ahead in the energy sector and therefore we have planned to set up an 6,300MW solar energy production in the state by 2027 while we are also under process to provide electricity to all the farmers in next few years," he said.
Referring to a high youth population, Sharma also stated that his government is committed to develop their skills through various schemes, providing them at least 400,000 jobs, and make more job makers instead of employees.
"Rajasthan is swiftly growing in every sector. Our infrastructure is developing. We can see a changing Rajasthan from every aspect," Sharma said.
The inaugural event was also joined by Governor Haribhau Bagade, Union minister Piyush Goyal, Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, several key ministers from the state cabinet along with a slew of prominent industrialists of the country from TATA Power, Vedanta Group of Indistries, JK cement, Hindustan Zinc Limited, Aditya Birla Group, Piramal Group, etc.
Addressing the event, Piyush Goyal said, "Rajasthan is always known for their resilience, reliability, and receptive nature that make the people of these state excel in any business. It has a diverse culture, young demography, and ability of a decisive leadership. If every migrated Rajasthani contributes a little bit for this state, Rajasthan will soon be a leading state in the country."
The cabinet industry minister, Rajyavardhan Rathore, said, "With PM Modi's vision, Rajasthan is focusing on a Global India with local routes through this summit on Prawasi Divas. At least 2,000 new industry blocks have been made in the last two years, Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridors through Rajasthan have been developed, 877 industries have been given environment clearances, while the rules and regulations regarding land purchase has also been made easier for building a suitable environment for business."
"At least Rs.1 lakh crore of investments through 421 MoUs have been announced today. At least Rs.7 lakh crores of investments that contribute to about 25% of the Rs.35 lakh crore investments received last year have also been groundbroken."
"The previous Congress government had organised the business summit at the penultimate year of their tenure. Yet, they received only Rs.12 lakh crore when we held it on the very first year and we were able to get Rs.35 lakh crore. This is only about willpowers and better policymaking that attracts the investors which the previous government lacked."...
