Prison inmates create giant map of India for Patel's anniversary
Jaipur, Oct. 30 -- Inmates of the Shyalawas Central Jail organised a unique event on Wednesday to mark National Unity Day and the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Inspired by Jail Superintendent Paras Jangid and guided by Jailer Vikas Bagoria, over 400 inmates came together in the open ground of the prison to create a massive map of India. The inmates then sat within the outline of the map to symbolise national unity and integrity.
At the centre of this artistic display stood a symbolic "Statue of Unity" - a large model of Sardar Patel - that became the highlight of the event, serving as a tribute to the leader who united India.
During the program, inmates waved tricolour flags and chanted slogans like "Bharat Mata Ki Jai," "Vande Mataram," and "National Unity Zindabad," filling the premises with patriotic fervour. The effort was led by inmate Sandeep Gupta, with support from Vikas Sharma, Mahesh, Nitin, Dinesh, Rajesh Moortikar, Ramprasad, Praveen Saini, and others. The event concluded with the national anthem, reflecting a deep sense of devotion and solidarity.
Officials said the initiative aimed to imbibe Sardar Patel's ideals of unity, integrity, and brotherhood among the inmates, inspiring them to channelise positive energy
