Bharatpur, July 9 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested the executive engineer of state electricity transmission corporation in Bharatpur on Tuesday for taking a bribe of Rs.30,000, an official said. "A contractor had filed a complaint on June 16 in the ACB office against a power official for forcing him to pay a bribe to release his pending bills of works. After receiving a complaint, it was verified and on Tuesday the electricity department's executive engineer Avnish Soni was caught taking a bribe of Rs.30,000 from the contractor," said Amit Singh, additional superintendent of police. "He was arrested under section Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, which deals with the offence of a public servant being bribed. He will be interrogated and presented before the court on Wednesday," he added....
