Police seize 1.44kg drugs in nagaur, 1 held
Jaipur, Aug. 5 -- Police have seized 1,44kg of illegal doda post (poppy husk) worth Rs.2.16 crore in Nagaur district, an officer said on Monday.
"A tip-off was received that Shravanram Bishnoi (40) of Bhed village had hidden a large stash of illegal poppy husk in his field. Once the information was verified, the Panchodi police station team was alerted. They raided Shravanram's field and recovered 1,441 kilograms of doda post packed in 50 sacks. The estimated value of the seized contraband in the international market is Rs.2.16 crore. Shravanram was arrested on the spot," said Dinesh MN, additional director general of police, Anti-Gangster Task Force and Crime.
He said that a special team had been formed to gather intelligence and take action against wanted criminals, gangsters, and organised crime syndicates. The team was supervised by additional SP Siddhant Sharma and led by inspector Ram Singh Nathawat.
The officer further said that Shravanram, during interrogation, revealed that the doda post was delivered to him three days ago by Dinesh Bishnoi of Bhavad village, located in Jodhpur district.
"The arrested accused, Shravanram, was supposed to deliver the consignment to Akha Ram Jat in Tankla village.We are now on the lookout for Dinesh, Akha Ram, and others involved in this smuggling network," ADGP Dinesh added....
