Jaipur, Dec. 19 -- More than Rs.9,700 crore worth of crop insurance claims have been settled in Rajasthan over the last three years under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), providing financial relief to farmers affected by crop losses due to adverse weather conditions and natural calamities. According to information tabled in the Rajya Sabha, the Centre informed that crop insurance claims amounting to Rs.4,364.77 crore were paid to farmers in 2022-23. In 2023-24, claims worth Rs.3,660.16 crore were settled, while in the ongoing 2024-25 season, a provisional amount of Rs.1,762.77 crore has been paid till October 31. The data was shared by minister of state for agriculture and farmers welfare Ramnath Thakur in reply to an unstarred question raised by Rajendra Gehlot related to farmer enrolment and claim settlement under PMFBY in Rajasthan.
