Jaipur, May 21 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs.26,000 crore during his visit to Bikaner on May 22. These projects span across sectors such as railways, urban development, and public infrastructure, underscoring the Centre's commitment to accelerating growth in the region. The Prime Minister will also address a public gathering in Palana as part of the high-profile event. As per an official release of PIB, Modi will begin his day around 11am by offering prayers at the revered Karni Mata Temple in Deshnok. Following this, he will inaugurate the newly redeveloped Deshnok Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and flag off the Bikaner-Mumbai Express train. During his visit, the Prime Minister will also dedicate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs.26,000 crore. He is scheduled to address a public gathering in Palana as part of the event. He will also inaugurate 103 Amrit Bharat Stations across 86 districts in 18 states and union territories, developed at a cost of over Rs.1,100 crore. More than 1,300 stations are being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme to enhance passenger amenities while reflecting local architectural styles. The Deshnok station, catering to pilgrims and tourists visiting the Karni Mata Temple, has been redesigned with temple-inspired architecture, including arches and pillars. Other stations across India also reflect local heritage-like Begumpet in Telangana, inspired by Kakatiya architecture; Thave station in Bihar, featuring murals and artifacts depicting Goddess Thawewali and Madhubani art; and Dakor station in Gujarat, themed around Lord Ranchhodrai. In a step toward achieving 100% electrification of its network, Indian Railways continues to enhance operational efficiency and environmental sustainability. As part of this mission, the PM will lay the foundation stone for the Churu-Sadulpur rail line (58 km) and dedicate to the nation several newly electrified railway sections, including Suratgarh-Phalodi (336 km), Phulera-Degana (109 km), Udaipur-Himmatnagar (210 km), Phalodi-Jaisalmer (157 km), and Samdari-Barmer (129 km). The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the construction of three vehicular underpasses and the widening and strengthening of key national highways. Additionally, he will dedicate seven road projects worth over Rs.4,850 crore to the nation. These projects aim to facilitate smoother movement of goods and people, with several routes extending to the India-Pakistan border - crucial for enhancing logistical support and strengthening national defense infrastructure, states the release. Modi will lay the foundation stone for several key power projects in Rajasthan. These include solar power projects in Bikaner, Nawa, Didwana, and Kuchaman, along with transmission systems under Part B (PowerGrid Sirohi Transmission Ltd) and Part E (PowerGrid Mewar Transmission Ltd) for efficient power evacuation. He will also inaugurate the Bikaner solar project, transmission systems from the PowerGrid Neemuch and Bikaner complexes, and the expansion of transformation capacity at the Fatehgarh-II power station - all aimed at delivering clean energy and reducing carbon emissions. Further strengthening Rajasthan's infrastructure and connectivity, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 25 key projects of the state government. These include the upgradation and maintenance of over 750 km of 12 state highways, with an estimated cost of Rs.3,240 crore, and the development of an additional 900 km of new highways.
