Jaipur, April 18 -- The first phase of the Census 2027 to list the details of the houses across Rajasthan will begin from May 16, officials said on Friday. Director of the Census office (DCO) of Rajasthan, Bishnu Charan Mallick, said, "The first phase of the Census 2027 will be conducted in Rajasthan from May 16, 2026 to June 14, 2026. In this phase, houselisting and housing operations (HLO) survey will be done. The ones who are not likely to be present at their houses during the scheduled period, may also register their details through self-enumeration process online from May 1 to May 15." According to the officials, a portal for the self enumeration- https://se.census.gov.in will be activated for this period of 15 days from 6am to 12 am every day. "This process aims to facilitate the families and their heads to take part in the Census if they are busy or working in a different location. However, once their self enumeration is done, our enumerators will verify their entries independently during the field survey period of May 16," said Mallick. He also warned the public against looking up the portal's URL with the assistance of any search engine. "Using the search engine may cause interruption by the cyber frauds. There will also be an OTP from the sender RGICEN. People must check the name before sharing the OTP on the portal when asked," he said. Officials said that at least 160,000 enumerators have been appointed in Rajasthan to conduct the field survey in every block. "They were also given a master training for the survey from April 7 to April 10 by the 103 trainers. Most of these enumerators were appointed from the education department while some were also from the local municipality. A list of 33 questions for the survey have already been notified by the central government on January 29, 2026 which will be asked to the people in the first phase." "Through these questions, we will note details regarding the gender of the family heads, condition of the house, their source of water supply and power supply, availability of toilets, cooking gas, smartphone, television etc. All the information will be noted digitally by the enumerators," said the DCO. Census 2027 will be the country's first completely digitised Census. "The second phase for the population enumeration will be conducted from February 2027 when the caste census, enumeration of the nomadic communities will also be surveyed," he said....
