India, June 2 -- Samay Raina has been lying low since he was embroiled in controversy earlier this year. The comedian and other fellow content creators landed in legal trouble for their "obscene" comments on his YouTube show, India's Got Latent. While Samay never publicly responded to the backlash, legal threats and police complaints, his new statement about parental supervision is being widely circulated online. A recently released podcast episode - which was reportedly recorded in January - shows Samay in conversation with author-content creator, Revant Himatsingka about the responsibilities of a public figure. Speaking about the impression online content can have on young children, Samay said, "If someone as young as eight to 10 years old is watching me, then their parents have failed." Elaborating, the comedian shared, "When I was that age, my father would beat me if I watched television. I didn't watch television then. I never got influenced and I really think he did a great job as a father." "The parents need to be responsible and not me. I have to be myself. If I want to influence people to do something, it is just to be honest," Samay went on, before asking, "Do you think a person like me has a responsibility to not drink Coke and not be myself? I drink Coke at home... should fake it in public and promote drinking water instead?"htc...
