Panic in Alwar after bomb-like device found at house; probe on
Jaipur, Jan. 13 -- Police recovered a suspicious bomb-like object from a house in Alwar on Monday morning, sparking panic in the city, they said, adding that the ATS and bomb squad are examining it at Jaisamand Dam.
Sub-inspector of Alwar city Bhagwan Singh said, "The object was recovered by the police and taken at the Jaisamand Dam where the bomb squad and ATS teams are examining it. We have also cordoned off the entire area and diverted the traffic."
Police recovered the object from the house of Babu Singh in Alwar's Vivekananda Nagar Sector 4. "Prima facie, it appears that a person visited Singh on Monday and left the object at his house after a scuffle. He soon fled from the area, while Singh informed the police about the object," said Singh.
Police immediately reached the spot with a dog squad, recovered the object and sent it to Jaisamand Dam, six kilometres from the populous city.
"We had then informed the ATS and bomb squad. The object looks like a mobile phone with a separate timer installed. It weighs around 200 to 250 grams," said Singh.
The ATS and police cordoned off a one-kilometre area from the dam and diverted all traffic....
