Barmer/Pali, Dec. 7 -- A case has been registered against Congress-affiliated National Students Union of India (NSUI) Pali district president Vijay Joshi after a woman accused him of raping her on the pretext of marriage and cheating her of Rs.30 lakh, police said, adding Joshi's mother and brother have also been named in the FIR. The victim, a government employee, filed her complaint at the Industrial Area Police Station on Friday. SHO Sumerdan said the 24-year-old complainant stated that in April 2023 she rented Joshi's flat and began living there and on July 3, 2025 he raped her while she was unconscious, recorded photos and videos, and later assured her that he would marry her. According to FIR, she claims Vijay took Rs.30 lakh from her on false promises. Reacting to the allegations, Vijay Joshi said, "I am a contractor. When I did not pay her commission, she filed a false case against me," he claimed, adding he has full faith in the court.htc...
