Jaipur, June 24 -- Congress, which used to rule from panchayat to Parliament, lost everywhere to the nationalism that had constantly been inspiring Bharatiya Janata Party, chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said on the death anniversary of Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, one of the key founders of BJP's parent party Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS). Addressing an event at the state party headquarter in Jaipur, the CM said, "Congress is a party that always played divisive politics in India. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee differed with them, and formed BJS to give an alternative to the people. He made this party with a vision of nationalism where everybody would be equally included. Congress, a party that used to rule from panchayat to Parliament, lost everywhere to this nationalism." Labelling Congress as a party with "no morale", Sharma further said: "Congress pushed a politics of appeasement. They only talk about one particular community. It is Mookerjee's idea of inclusive politics that inspired Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to compromise in any situation. Since 2014, he has made significant changes in the country and its policies and proved that bringing everyone in the path of nationalism is real patriotism." He said that all schemes that have been implemented by the PM in the last 11 years aim to provide benefits to everyone irrespective of any specific community, caste, or gender. "PM wants to go ahead with everyone. His schemes such as Gareeb Kalyan Yojana, PM Awas Yojana or the policies to combat terrorism turned the country towards the direction of robust development," said CM. "It is Modi under whose leadership, India has become the fourth largest economy in the world and made the world look up to us. But it was Mookerjee's dream to make India the most powerful state in the world. Modi is fulfilling all his dreams after all these years," he stated. Sharma questioned: "Who thought that a PM in this country would start an entire country-wide campaign for cleanliness or gender equality or environmental conservation? With his inspiration, we have also learned to understand the pain of common people. In Rajasthan, we are putting our best effort in a similar way to bring smile on the faces of our youth, women, farmers, and labourers. On this Balidan Diwas, we must take inspiration from Mookerjee's sacrifice for the country and commit to take his morale, his values, and his dreams forward." During the occasion, state BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Madan Rathore also elaborated the life and works of Mookerjee. He said, "He belonged to a family in Bengal that was closely linked to the freedom movement. Mookerjee himself fought for the country. But, soon after the independence, he realised that the Congress and Jawahar Lal Nehru was not going towards the vision with which he fought for the freedom of India. He parted away and floated BJS." "Mookerjee was also the first one who opposed the separate status of Kashmir. He never agreed to the idea of a separate administration and recognition of a state which is a part of India only. He went to Kashmir alone to fight against Article 370 and was poisoned to death. The Congress government refused to probe the case. It is PM Modi who fulfilled Mookerjee's dream after all these decades by scrapping Article 370 and making Kashmir an inclusive part of India," said Rathore. In response to the remarks, Congress spokesperson Swarnim Chaturvdi said, "Congress is a party that was born out of the country's first nationalist movement in which RSS denied to participate. This is the identity of the Congress. Everybody can also see that the BJP government is also all about some lies, no promises have been fulfilled. What nationalism are they talking about?"...
