Jaipur, Oct. 25 -- The Rajasthan government has highlighted that over 10,000 government buildings across the state are currently not in use. In light of this, all administrative departments have been advised to consider these vacant buildings for official purposes before proposing the construction of new structures. In a circular issued on Friday, chief secretary Sudhash Pant states that the list of unused buildings has been prepared following a survey conducted through district administrations. Details of these buildings are available at the district collector's office, and the collector has the authority to allocate them to any government department as needed. Departments have been instructed to first consult the district collector to check for suitable existing buildings before submitting proposals for new construction. If an appropriate building is available, it should be used as a priority. Additionally, the finance department will require a certificate from the district collector confirming the unavailability of suitable buildings whenever departments submit proposals for approval of new constructions.
