Jaipur, Dec. 30 -- Chief minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Monday said Rajasthan had initiated firm action against infiltrators, asserting that there was no place for them in the state. Addressing the inaugural session of the 61st provincial conference of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in Jaipur, Sharma said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a high-powered demography mission. Union home minister Amit Shah has also stated that infiltrators will be identified and expelled one by one. In the same direction, Rajasthan has also begun this exercise, and there is no place for infiltrators in the state." The Chief Minister said the country had witnessed unprecedented change since 2014 and that his government was working in line with Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya's philosophy of Antyodaya, ensuring welfare schemes reached the last person in society. He described the new National Education Policy as a major step towards strengthening India's knowledge traditions. Education in Indian languages was being actively promoted, he said, adding that Rajasthan continued to take measures to advance this initiative. Taking a swipe at the previous government, Sharma said youth frustration had peaked earlier due to paper leaks and widespread corruption. He claimed that his administration, which recently completed two years in office, had undertaken more development works during this period than the previous regime did in five years. Reiterating his government's pledge to create four lakh government jobs in five years, Sharma said 92,000 appointments had already been made, another 20,000 would be issued next month, and recruitment for over 1.5 lakh posts was under way. Sharma said that soon after assuming office, the government had drawn up a comprehensive plan for Rajasthan's growth. He cited key initiatives such as the Ramjal Setu Link Project, the Devas Project, the Yamuna water agreement, and restoration works along the Indira Gandhi Canal. Major decisions had also been taken in the power sector, he said, noting that daytime electricity supply was now being provided in 22 districts, fulfilling a promise made to farmers. Rajasthan, he added, would soon become self-reliant in power generation. Commenting on the BJP government's claims, Congress spokesperson Swarnim Chaturvedi said the previous Ashok Gehlot-led Congress administration had provided nearly 2.5 lakh jobs through competitive examinations, with another 1.25 lakh appointments already in process. He alleged that the Chief Minister was projecting ongoing recruitment drives initiated earlier as his own achievements, while the BJP government had actually issued advertisements for only a limited number of new posts. Chaturvedi further challenged the government to present concrete data on new colleges opened, CHCs and PHCs established, hospitals built, and infrastructure projects completed during its tenure. "Governance should be judged on real work and outcomes, not merely on tall claims and rhetoric," he said....
