JODHPUR, May 7 -- The National Green Tribunal has declined to entertain a plea seeking directions to the Rajasthan government to frame a policy to eradicate Prosopis juliflora, or Angrezi babool, saying such matters fall within the executive's domain. A bench of Justice Sheo Kumar Singh and expert member Sudhir Kumar Chaturvedi passed the order on Tuesday while disposing of an application filed by Shaukat Khan Kayamkhani. The application sought wide-ranging directions, including a statewide policy for the identification and removal of Prosopis juliflora.
