New tourism policy will be introduced soon: CM Sharma
Jaipur, Nov. 28 -- Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Thursday said the state was rapidly advancing on the path of tourism, investment and industrial development, backed by investor-friendly policies and an efficient single-window clearance system.
Addressing the tourism department's pre-summit organised as part of Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas in Jaipur,, Sharma urged global and domestic investors to expand their participation in Rajasthan's booming tourism landscape.
He announced that the state government will soon introduce a new tourism policy aimed at strengthening core infrastructure, marketing and promotion, festival tourism, digital and AI-based initiatives, skill development, youth employment and increased private investment. A dedicated policy implementation unit will also be set up, Sharma said.
Sharma said that until August this year, Rajasthan recorded over 150 million domestic and nearly 120,000 foreign tourists, he said.
In a major heritage revival effort, 662 havelis in Shekhawati-spread across Jhunjhunu, Sikar and Churu-are being conserved to boost regional tourism, said the chief minister, adding that the the state was offering up to Rs.2 crore subsidy for film production under the Rajasthan Film Tourism Promotion Policy, along with concessions on shooting fees at government properties....
