Nagaur, May 1 -- A 24-hour shutdown has been scheduled under the first phase of the Nagaur Lift Drinking Water Supply Scheme due to essential maintenance work at several pump houses, including Naukha Deya, Deshnok, Gogelav, Mundwa and Merta, officials said. The shutdown will take place on Saturday, May 2, during which water supply from the scheme will remain completely suspended. As a result, water supply will be affected across several areas connected to the first phase of the project, including Nagaur, Mundwa, Khinvsar, Merta and Riyan blocks. Towns and villages such as Nagaur city, Basni, Mundwa, Merta city and Kuchera are also expected to face disruption in water distribution on the scheduled date. The administration has appealed to residents to make adequate arrangements for water storage in advance and use water judiciously during the shutdown period to avoid inconvenience.
