Jaipur, July 8 -- Banswara MP Rajkumar Roat wrote to the director general of police on Sunday seeking a high-level probe into a Rs.1,800 crore irregularities case that unfolded across the colleges in the tribal belt by cyber frauds colluding with bank employees. In a letter to DGP Rajeev Sharma, he said, "It has been brought to my notice by some tribal students and their parents of several colleges that a big scam was carried out in Dungarpur district with the connivance of some employees of Indusland Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Bank of Maharashtra and other banks." "Some employees of the bank visited the college and lured the students and their families by promising that by opening their bank accounts they would be given opportunities like PAN card, scholarship, education loan and government jobs," he said. According to the MP, the fraudsters opened bank accounts in the names of these students and their family members and made illegal transactions worth lakhs of rupees by taking fake Aadhaar cards, photos and documents. When these students asked for ATM cards, the bank employees turned them down citing technical faults. The MP said fradulent transfers of Rs.1,800 crore has been traced from the accounts of over 500 students. "I urge you to set up a high-level probe committee to investigate the matter and immediately arrest these fraudsters," Roat told the DGP....
