Mob attacks police station in Alwar
Alwar, May 8 -- Over 100 people allegedly attacked the Govindgarh police station in Alwar district late at night after police seized a Bullet motorcycle which was being used for stunt riding and creating loud noises, officials said.
The mob allegedly pelted stones, vandalised police vehicles and assaulted policemen, leaving station house officer Dharam Singh injured and triggering tension in the area.
Alwar superintendent of police Sudhir Singh said the incident began when two youths were seen riding a Bullet motorcycle recklessly in the Govindgarh area and allegedly making a ruckus, disturbing residents.
Villagers had reportedly complained to police about repeated stunt riding and chaos in the locality. Acting on the complaint, Govindgarh police intercepted the youths and seized the motorcycle.
Soon after the seizure, a large crowd gathered outside the police station and the situation turned violent. According to police, more than 100 people surrounded the station and began pelting stones.
They also vandalised a police vehicle parked outside the station and smashed its windows.
Authorities said a probe has been launched and suspects are being identified through viral videos and CCTV footage.hansraj...
