Barmer, Jan. 4 -- A 35-year-old man was killed in a dispute over food which escalated into a violent clash, police said on Saturday, adding that the accused has been arrested. According to Sheo police station in-charge Satyaprakash Vishnoi, a party was underway late on January 1 at a power plant in Kotda Mehro ki Dhani village. During the gathering, an argument broke out over food between Satyendra Singh (34), from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, and Sawai Singh (35), a resident of Akoda village in Barmer. The dispute turned violent when Sawai Singh allegedly struck Satyendra Singh on the leg with a stick. In retaliation, Satyendra is accused of hitting Sawai Singh on the head with a stone, causing him to collapse and bleed profusely, police said. He succumbed to his injuries late on January 2.
