Bharatpur, April 13 -- A man was electrocuted and another sustained critical injuries while allegedly stealing electric wires from a power line in Bharatpur, police said on Sunday. The incident took place in the agriculture area of Ikran village under Chiksana police station late on Saturday, police said. ASI Hukum Singh, said, "On being informed on Sunday morning, a police team reached the spot and found a thief hanging on electric wires while another thief was found lying unconscious on ground." Doctors declared one of them dead while another is undergoing treatment, police said. The deceased was identified as Sunil Thakur from Uttar Pradesh's Mathura while Gaurav Saini also from Mathura is critical. Police said there were around seven members of a gang involved in the attempt. Police are trying to search for them. A complaint from power officials was also registered against them, police said, adding that four complaints of wire theft were already registered against deceased in Uttar Pradesh.
