Jaipur, Dec. 7 -- A 21-year-old man was arrested on Friday for allegedly raping and murdering a 20-year-old woman at a house next to the Mundawar police station in Khairthal Tijara district on Friday afternoon. "The incident took place at around 1:30 pm on Friday. We have arrested the man by Friday night. Further probe is underway," said the station house officer of Mundawar police station, Ramniwas Meena. According to police, the accused, identified as Upendra Kumar from Haryana, was working in Mundawar for the last one year at a local share market while the victim was a nursing student in the city. In a complaint, the victim's father alleged that she went to collect her graduation certificate and was returning home when she was abducted by the accused. "In the FIR, her father alleged that after collecting the certificate, they were waiting for a bus at a nearby bus-station. The man suddenly arrived on a two-wheeler and abducted the woman," said Meena. "The woman was found in a pool of blood. Prima facie, there was also evidence of a struggle," said Meena. An FIR was also lodged under relevant sections under BNS. "The body was sent for an autopsy. We are interrogating the man. The accused and victim were known to each other. The exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed," he added....
