Jaipur, Nov. 30 -- A 32-year-old man was arrested by Banswara police on Saturday for allegedly launching a brutal attack on a local BLO on November 17, police officers in the know said. The station house officer of Banswara's Danpur police station, Jeebata Ram, said, "The incident happened when the victim, Mansingh Maeeda was returning from his survey duty that day when the accused, Sanjay Maeeda, stopped his car on the road, and started assaulting him with an iron rod. The victim was severely injured and he is still undergoing treatment at the hospital." According to police officers involved in the investigation, Mansingh, after completing his duties at a village in Danpur, was returning home at 4:30 pm by driving his own car. "Sanjay allegedly stopped his car in the middle of the road at a desolate area, dragged him out and asked for Rs.1,000 to buy alcohol. When Mansingh refused, he snatched some money from his pocket and hit him with a irod rod causing grievous injury to the victim's head, leg, and hands," said the SHO. A case was registered against Sanjay under relevant sections 115 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 109 (attempted murder) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on November 18, said police officers in the know....
