lumpy disease back in sirohi, vaccine ordered
Barmer, Aug. 15 -- Sirohi district has reported fresh signs of the deadly lumpy skin disease (LSD) in cattle, sparking concern among livestock owners. The virus has allegedly resurfaced in villages including Isra and Makroda, where symptoms have been detected.
Officials from the animal husbandry department confirmed that several cattle have shown signs of infection. Dr Amit Choudhary, joint director of the department in Sirohi, said, "Five teams were deployed to monitor and respond to the outbreak. The department has ordered 25,000 vaccine doses from Barmer. Officials are also inspecting cowsheds across the district." Authorities said the situation is under control....
