Jaipur, Nov. 5 -- Rajasthan Governor HariBhau Bagade on Tuesday underscored the importance of unity amid diversity, stating that a nation is built upon its diverse languages, cultures, beliefs and traditions.
He was addressing a one-day national seminar on "National Unity: One Consciousness in Diversity" at Govind Guru Tribal University, Banswara. The Governor also inaugurated an exhibition dedicated to tribal freedom fighters as part of the event.
In his address, Bagade emphasized that the strength of a country lies in its people's collective spirit, shared territory, culture, and traditions. "Citizens must have devotion and love for the values, ideals of their nation," he said, adding that the sense of unity should not remain limited to words but should reflect in one's actions and conduct.
Highlighting historical lessons, the Governor said India's lack of unity and internal weaknesses in the past allowed the British to take control of the country. "We reclaimed our freedom from the British, but from India, many nations later emerged," he observed. He added that a nation progresses when its citizens dedicate their strength, intellect, and sacrifice to its growth and becomes economically self-reliant.
Calling India one of the world's fastest-growing economies, Bagde said the transformation is visible even in rural areas. "Earlier, villages had mud houses, but now they have permanent structures because people have more income - this reflects our economic progress."...
