LoP meets Speaker over disqualification of MLA
Jaipur, May 21 -- Political tensions in the Rajasthan Assembly escalated following a series of developments involving the disqualification case of BJP MLA Kanwar Lal Meena and a controversial committee reshuffle. Speaker Vasudev Devnani has directed the state's advocate general to submit his legal opinion on Meena's disqualification to the Assembly Secretariat "at the earliest." In response, Speaker Devnani clarified, "it is misleading propaganda that Budhania was removed. He is a senior and experienced legislator, and his expertise will be better utilised in this important committee," Devnani said.
He also noted that Budhania's reassignment was part of a broader reshuffle affecting three other committee chairpersons from the ruling BJP as well-decisions he said were made in the House's interest....
