Leopard dies after villagers lock her
Jaipur, Dec. 8 -- A two-year-old female leopard died in Banswara on Sunday after the villagers locked her in a house for two hours when she attacked a 10-year-old boy, officials said.
Banswara DFO, Abhishek Sharma, said, "The incident took place on Sunday morning when the leopard from a nearby forest entered the village and barged in a local farmer's house. She also attacked a boy, Shanti Lal, when he was sitting outside."
Due to the attack, he sustained some minor injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
"Meanwhile, the angry villagers locked her in the house. She had been trying to escape but was stuck for two hours. Upon receiving the information, the forest officials reached the spot, unlocked the room, and got her out," Sharma said.
However, she started vomiting and died half-an-hour later.
"The body of the leopard has been sent for an autopsy. The reason of her death could be ascertained once the result comes. Further investigation is underway," the DFO said....
