JODHPUR, Oct. 29 -- The death toll in the bus fire that occurred on October 14 on the Jaisalmer-Jodhpur highway touched 28 on Tuesday. Peer Mohammad, who was seriously injured in the accident, died during treatment at the Sawai Mansingh Hospital in Jaipur. Dr. Fateh Singh Bhati, Superintendent of Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Jodhpur, said that Vishakha, the only remaining victim, is currently undergoing treatment. While undergoing treatment in Jodhpur, Peer Mohammad's family took him to Ahmedabad. His entire family was wiped out in the tragedy. Earlier, his wife, Imamat, and a son died while undergoing treatment at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, Jodhpur, while another son and daughter were burnt alive in the fire. His relative Jalaluddin said that he was brought to Jaipur from Ahmedabad on Monday evening. On October 14, a private bus caught fire near Thaiyat on the Jaisalmer-Jodhpur highway.
