Jaipur, Jan. 3 -- Jaipur North police have arrested six men in connection with a case of kidnapping, assault and robbery after allegedly luring a youth to the city with a false promise of employment. Police recovered Rs.1 lakh in cash and the victim's looted mobile phone from their possession. Jaipur North DCP Karan Sharma said the complainant, Parmesh, lodged a report at Brahmpuri police station on January 1, stating that about a month ago, he had contacted Udai Mehra, 21, by phone seeking help in finding a job in Jaipur. Udai assured him that he would arrange employment. The complainant stated that on December 27, 2025, Mehra called him and asked him to come to Jaipur. Parmesh arrived in the city and stayed there. On December 30, around 8pm, Mehra took him to the Jal Mahal Pal area on the pretext of arranging work. Soon after, Mehra's associates appeared and forcibly took Parmesh to a nearby forested area. There, the accused allegedly assaulted him, threatened him with dire consequences, and demanded money. Under pressure, Parmesh asked his father to transfer Rs.1 lakh into his bank account. The accused then withdrew the money via UPI from his mobile phone and also snatched the phone before fleeing. Police commissioner Sachin Mittal, IPS, and additional police commissioner (Crime) Manish Agrawal, IPS, ordered immediate action. A special police team was formed under the supervision of additional DCP Neeraj Pathak, RPS, and assistant commissioner of police Surendra Singh Rawat, Amer Circle, Jaipur North. The team, led by Brahmpuri SHO Rajesh Gautam, included ASI Inderraj Singh, constables Umeshchand, Kanaram, Pradeep, Jatan Singh, and cyber expert constable Nanchuram. Using technical inputs and intelligence, the police tracked the accused and arrested them after sustained surveillance. During investigation, it was revealed that Mehra was the gang leader who allegedly conspired with his associates to rob the complainant after calling him to Jaipur on the pretext of a job offer.
