Jaipur Greater ranks 16th in cleanest cities in Swachh Survekshan
Jaipur, July 18 -- The Jaipur Greater municipal corporation has secured the 16th position in the Swachh Survekshan 2024-2025, marking the first time the city has made it to the top 20 cleanest cities in India.
The award was presented at the Swachh Survekshan Awards Ceremony 2024-25 held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu. Union minister for housing and urban affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar.
The award was presented to Rajasthan's minister of urban development and local self governance, Jhabar Singh Khara, and Jaipur Greater mayor Somya Gurjar.
According to an official statement, Jaipur Greater was also recognised in the state ministerial category as the "Promising Swachh Shehar of Rajasthan."
In another milestone, Jaipur Greater received the "Water Plus" certification for the first time and earned a 3-star rating in the Garbage Free City (GFC) category, it stated.
The mayor dedicated the award to the people of Jaipur. "This recognition belongs to our committed sanitation workers, the municipal team, dedicated officials, and every citizen who has contributed to keeping our city clean. Jaipur Greater's entry into the top 20 proves that no goal is unreachable if citizens come together. We are determined that next time, Jaipur Greater will be among the top 10 cleanest cities in the country. We remain committed to making Jaipur cleaner, greener, and more organised," she said....
