Instagram likes pages on its own: Tamannaah Bhatia
India, May 30 -- On Wednesday, Tamannaah Bhatia took to Instagram Stories to clarify that she had not, in fact, 'liked' a Reel which featured an old clip of actor Deepika Padukone from when she was promoting her 2020 film Chhapaak. The fan video was accompanied by text that read, "Propaganda she is not falling for: gender pay gap, unprofessionalism, and double standards."
This comes after Deepika's reported ouster from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film Spirit. While Tamannaah did not mention the video, she posted a selfie and wrote, "Can Instagram pls figure out how it likes pages on its own, cause random people are making it news and I have work to do."
Social media users drew comparisons to a similar incident with cricketer Virat Kohli, who came under fire for "accidentally" liking a post on actor Avneet Kaur's fan page.
Drawing parallels between the two situations, a social media user claimed, "I'm liking this Virat Kohli approach to blame every interaction with the feed on the algorithm. Seems fun," whereas another called it, "Kohli Effect." Another agreed and wrote, "Kohli effect ka chakkar babu bhaiya.... Kohli effect ka chakkar."htc...
