India's MICE industry evolving into global leader: Union minister
Jaipur, May 5 -- Union minister of tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Sunday emphasised the transformative potential of India's Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector and called it a key economic driver capable of generating high-quality employment and boosting the nation's global standing in tourism.
"States across India are unlocking tourism opportunities in their own unique ways - and now, it's time for India to position itself firmly on the global MICE map. India's MICE industry is rapidly evolving into a global leader, propelled by strong economic momentum, world-class infrastructure, and robust government support," Shekhawat said while addressing at a conclave.
Citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary leadership, he said: "States such as Rajasthan are setting an example by blending cultural legacy with innovation."
He reaffirmed the government's commitment to making India the world's most admired destination for tourism and global events.
The ministry of tourism in collaboration with the state department of tourism and FICCI, organised the meet in India Conclave at Jaipur on the sidelines of the 14th Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB).
"Rajasthan is not just a heritage destination - it is a vibrant, future-ready hub for MICE tourism.
