KOTA, June 17 -- Even as the ruling Congress is grappling with dissent from loyalists of former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot, some MLAs and former MLAs of the opposition BJP are demanding that Vasundhara Raje be given the lead role in party affairs in Rajasthan.

Bhawani Singh Rajawat, former BJP MLA from Ladpura in Kota, has said in a statement, "Without Vasundhara Raje, BJP cannot return to power in Rajasthan."

Prahlad Gunjal, former BJP MLA from Kota North, protested removal of Raje's photos from party posters at the state BJP headquarters recently.

Although Rajawat described removal of Raje's photos as the "internal democracy" of the party, he said there is no alternative to Raje in the Rajasthan BJP unit. "BJP will have to proj...
