Jaipur, Oct. 27 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall and accompanying thunderstorms in parts of the state between October 26 to 29, a release from the weather monitoring body said on Sunday.The inclement weather is expected to peak on October 27 and 28, said the release, adding that on those days, parts of Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions were expected to be affected. In particular, Kota and Udaipur divisions and surrounding areas may experience isolated very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall on October 27, followed by heavy rainfall on October 28. The eastern regions of the state are likely to continue receiving light to moderate rainfall on October 29-30, said the release. The IMD has advised residents in these areas to exercise caution, avoid low-lying and flood-prone areas, and stay updated with weather alerts. The release added that current meteorological observations indicated that a low-pressure area formed over the west-central Bay of Bengal has subsequently intensified into a massive depression.
