Jaipur, May 21 -- India's tourism sector, particularly in border states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Punjab, is reeling under the impact of ongoing geopolitical tensions along the western frontier. The sharp decline in tourist footfall has significantly affected the local hospitality economy, prompting the Indian Heritage Hotels Association (IHHA) to urge the Centre for immediate corrective action. In a formal letter to Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, IHHA General Secretary Captain Gaj Singh Alsisar highlighted the ripple effects of negative foreign travel advisories. He stated that these advisories are not only deterring international leisure tourists but also hurting key segments which are integral to the country's domestic tourism ecosystem.
