India, June 15 -- For Parambrata Chattopadhyay becoming a father has been "quite a surreal feeling." The actor, who welcomed his first child with wife, singer Piya Chakraborty earlier this month tells us, "It's very exciting. I became a father a little later in life compared to most of my friends, but I think I'm more mature, having seen more of life." Recalling how it felt to hold his son for the first time, the 44-year-old says,"Seeing our child for the first time and holding him, was quite overwhelming. Even today, it's surreal to look at him and think that the two of us made this one together." While they're proud parents, Parambrata reveals that he and Piya were initially expecting a daughter. "Both of us thought we'd have a daughter, but towards the end, I had the feeling the baby would be a boy," he shares, adding, "Our friends had also made bets about the baby's gender during the pregnancy." Parambrata says that becoming a dad has changed him as a person. However, he asserts that all his focus is on supporting his wife through her journey as a mother. He says, "The kind of changes a mother goes through, I don't think a father can ever experience. There's no comparison. That's been the toughest part for me - realising that I'm not feeling even 30% of what Piya is going through." Right now, his priority is spending as much time with the baby as possible: "I'm on a break till July; I might even extend it. I want to focus on this new chapter."...
