HC seeks raj govt plan to conserve state's protected monuments
Jodhpur, Oct. 5 -- The Rajasthan high court on Friday expressed serious concern over the deteriorating condition of protected monuments and directed the state government to submit an action plan for the conservation of ancient monuments and details of the steps being taken in this regard.
The division bench of Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma and justice Sandeep Taneja, while hearing the suo motu public interest litigation (PIL), said: 'counsel appearing for the respondents shall file an affidavit detailing out their plan of action for protecting all the ancient monuments all over the State of Rajasthan and the steps being taken in this regard. The detailed affidavit shall be filed by the Director, Archaeology."
The PIL was registered in 2020, when the court expanded the scope to include all historical monuments in Rajasthan....
