govt to set up 591 EV charging stns in 262 places
Jaipur, April 1 -- Rajasthan is set to bolster its electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem with 591 charging stations at 262 locations with Rs.81.12 crore in central funding that promises to make green mobility far more accessible across the state.
Rajasthan will establish the stations under a centrally supported initiative. The Government of India has approved financial assistance of Rs.81.12 crore to Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation for developing public EV charging infrastructure.
An official release states that the move is expected to significantly strengthen the state's EV ecosystem and make charging facilities more accessible to users. Rajasthan has emerged as one of the leading states in promoting green energy, with continuous efforts to expand and streamline its clean energy network.
The proposal for setting up the new EV charging stations was submitted by the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation under the Centre's PM E-Drive Scheme, aimed at accelerating EV adoption and building robust infrastructure. The approval marks a significant step towards promoting sustainable transport and increasing EV usage in the state.
