Govt suffers lack of clarity over '21 SI exam row: Pilot
Jaipur, Sept. 3 -- Senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led state government over the cancellation of the SI recruitment exam, accusing it of lacking clarity and seriousness.
Addressing reporters in Jaisalmer, he said the controversy had been dragging on for months, yet the government has done little beyond announcing committees. "The government itself doesn't seem to know what it wants to do. What it says publicly and what it files in court are two different things. Reacting to Sachin Pilot's statement, BJP spokesperson Laxmikant Bharadwaj said, "This entire case came to light only after the BJP formed the government in Rajasthan. An SIT was constituted, which filed cases, investigated, and arrested 122 people involved in this recruitment. The probe is still ongoing. Even in its order cancelling the recruitment, the high court has written that the government agency did commendable work by exposing the culprits."
He said it was actually the Congress government, Pilot's own party, under which the paper leaks took place. "Pilot himself had walked from Ajmer to Jaipur in protest at that time-what came of that later? The BJP government's intentions are clear, and that is why justice is being delivered in a crime committed during the Congress regime."
On Monday, RPSC member Manju Sharma resigned after the court named her along with five other members for compromising the integrity of the Sub-Inspector 2021 examination.
On Thursday, the high court cancelled the SI-2021 examination over a paper leak allegation after which the SOG arrested at least 122 people including former RPSC members Babulal Katara, Ramu Ram Raika....
