Jaipur, April 24 -- Rajasthan is bracing for an intense spell of heat, with the Meteorological Department warning of a further rise of 1-2 degree Celsius in maximum temperatures over the next few days and heatwave conditions likely in parts of the state. Western and north-eastern regions may witness heatwave conditions over the next 3-4 days, with temperatures in north-western areas expected to touch 44-45 degree Celsius. The weather office has also indicated a brief relief phase, with a weak western disturbance likely to impact the region. Dust storms accompanied by light rainfall or drizzle are expected in border areas of western Rajasthan on April 25, and in western and northern parts between April 26 and 28, particularly during the afternoon. Temperatures across the state have already surged close to 44 degree Celsius, intensifying heat stress. Amid rising temperatures, school timings have been revised in Jaipur and Kota. Sri Ganganagar recorded among the highest temperatures in the state, with light rainfall expected there in the next two days. In view of the escalating heatwave situation, the state government has issued a comprehensive advisory to safeguard public health. The Disaster Management, Relief and Civil Defence Department has released detailed guidelines on "Do's and Don'ts during Heatwave Conditions." Officials have urged citizens, employers and livestock owners to take necessary precautions. Special care has been advised for children, the elderly, pregnant women and those with illnesses. People have been asked to stay updated with weather information through radio, television, newspapers or mobile apps, and to maintain adequate hydration by consuming water, ORS, buttermilk, lemon water and similar fluids.
