Govt school principal and teacher suspended for molesting students
Bharatpur, Nov. 26 -- A government school principal and a teacher of a government school in Sawai Madhopur district were suspended after an education department probe committee launched to investigate allegations of molesting female students against them submitted its report on Tuesday, officials aware of the matter said.
The committee to investigate the two teachers, principal Mukesh Kaushal and Abdul Maruf, was formed on November 14, a day after complaints from Class 7 students alleging that the accused teachers repeatedly misbehaved and attempted to molest girls from Class 6 to 12 were received by district education officers within the department, said Dinesh Gupta, additional district project coordinator of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.
In the course of the probe, the allegations were confirmed through student testimonies and the suspension order was passed subsequently, he said.
The allegations included that the accused put pressure on students to share their social media IDs and attempted to touch them inappropriately, added Gupta.
Multiple students confirmed the allegations, he said. Students reportedly testified to the committee that they were called to the computer lab, where the bulk of the alleged abuse would take place.
They alleged that the accused also attempted to put pressure on students to converse with them through late-night messages on WhatsApp, said Gupta.
Parents demanded strict action against the teachers, who were allegedly assaulted by a group of parents earlier.
The committee submitted its report to the district collector, district education officer, Additional District Project coordinator of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and chief block education officer of Khandar, Gupta said....
