Jaipur, Nov. 14 -- Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the BJP government, accusing it of failing to provide basic agricultural resources to farmers at crucial times. In a post on X, Gehlot shared several news cuttings highlighting the plight of farmers and wrote that the state government has been unable to supply seeds during the sowing season, electricity and water for irrigation, and fertilizers like DAP and urea for better crop yield. He said farmers are "completely distressed" under such a 'nakara and nikammi' (incompetent and inefficient government). Targeting chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and agriculture minister Kirodi Lal Meena, Gehlot said, "The Chief Minister is busy with his visits to Delhi, while the Agriculture Minister is only making headlines through unproductive raids. He should instead tell how many FIRs were registered and how many licences were cancelled after such raids." Gehlot alleged that due to this "irresponsible attitude," farmers in the state are left "crying tears of blood."
