Jaipur, Dec. 19 -- Rajasthan has recorded a major jump in its revenue collection, earning Rs.14,200 crore more than last year, driven by wide-ranging digital governance and structural reforms implemented by the state government, an official release from the CM's office stated. It added that the state adopted a data-driven approach in both tax and non-tax segments, strengthening digital monitoring systems and enforcement mechanisms. As a result, Rajasthan's total revenue in the financial year 2024-25 has risen by 12.60% compared to the previous year. Digitisation has brought greater transparency in sectors such as GST, commercial taxes, excise, stamps and registration, mining, energy and transport. Technology-led interventions have helped curb fake billing, tax evasion and illegal mining, while ensuring better compliance with government rules and orders. In the GST and commercial taxes department, more than 45 data-driven analytical reports were generated to detect fake billing and high-risk taxpayers. Measures such as e-way bill matching, return profiling and IT-based surveillance led to the cancellation of suspicious registrations and improved voluntary compliance among traders. Excise reforms also played a key role in boosting revenue. Intelligence-based crackdowns on illegal liquor manufacturing and smuggling reduced revenue leakage, while the introduction of the e-excise system, QR-based tracking and end-to-end digital monitoring of the supply chain improved transparency. The allocation of liquor shops through an e-lottery system further minimised human intervention and corruption. Significant gains were also recorded in the stamps and registration department following the rollout of e-registration, e-GRAS and other online services. Over the past two years, more than 50 lakh documents were registered, contributing over Rs 20,599 crore to the state exchequer. The release states, the additional Rs 14,200 crore revenue has strengthened Rajasthan's financial position and will enable higher spending on development and welfare schemes....
