govt disburses Rs.6k-cr pmfby crop insurance claims to farmers
Jaipur, Nov. 1 -- Agriculture minister Kirori Lal Meena on Friday said Rajasthan government has disbursed insurance claims worth Rs.6,206 crore to insured farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).
Chairing a review meeting at Pant Krishi Bhawan to assess the progress and challenges of the scheme, Meena said the state government is committed to ensuring that every eligible farmer receives timely compensation for crop losses. He directed insurance firms to expedite claim settlements and resolve issues related to post-harvest assessments.
To maintain transparency, the minister instructed that all crop-cutting experiments must be conducted online. He noted that Rajasthan is among the leading states in implementing online crop-cutting experiments and emphasized adherence to the approved schedule.
He also announced that a two-day training program will be organized for district-level officials from the revenue and agriculture departments on the scheme to resolve issues....
