Jaipur, Aug. 8 -- Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Thursday underscored the state government's commitment to women's safety and empowerment, calling them the driving force of a progressive society. Addressing the gathering with women journalists at his residence, Sharma said, "If a woman takes one step forward, Rajasthan will move a hundred steps ahead," while also lauding the role of women in media as vital contributors to democracy and social change. Calling media the fourth pillar of democracy, the CM praised women journalists for playing a vital role in shaping public opinion and strengthening democratic values. "Our women journalists are the sculptors of India and Rajasthan," he said, extending Raksha Bandhan wishes. Sharma said the state government is making consistent efforts for the all-round development of women with full sensitivity. Emphasising women's safety, he said special steps like formation of Kalika patrolling units, three women battalions, 65 Anti-Romeo Squads, and dedicated women help desks in police stations have been implemented....
