Govt: Probe into BJP MLA's revenue official daughter
Jaipur, Sept. 5 -- The directorate for specially-abled people of the state government has ordered a probe against the daughter of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Beawar, Shankar Singh Rawat, for securing a government job by providing a fake disability certificate, officials said on Thursday.
Officials said that the probe was ordered on August 21 following a complaint registered at the chief minister's grievance portal.
"A complaint was received by the directorate through the CM's portal in which an individual, Fanish Soni, alleged that Kanchan Chauhan, the daughter of Shankar Singh Rawat, secured a government job in the position of a nayab-tehsildar by providing a fake disability certificate in Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) exam under the Rajasthan Public Service Commission in 2018," the additional director Chandra Sekhar Chaudhary wrote in the order copy issued to the Ajmer Revenue Board. The official letter further added: "It is hereby directed to launch an immediate probe against her, verify all her documents, and take necessary action."
According to the officials, Kanchan qualified the RAS exam in 2018 and was first appointed as a nayab tehsildar under the revenue board in Bhilwara's Gulabpura in December 27, 2021.
She is serving the same in the Kareda area of Bhilwara since 2024.
"The complainant Soni alleged that she provided a disability certificate for having hearing inability. But apparently she has no such challenge in her daily life. The complainant also asked to check her school education certificates in the letter to the CM portal," an officer from the directorate said.
He further added that all the documents of the accused will be verified further while a medical examination will also be conducted to ascertain her disability. A retired justice will be appointed to lead the team during the entire verification process.
Meanwhile, commenting on the development, MLA Rawat denied all the allegations on Thursday. "All the allegations are false. The complainant had earlier approached me for undue help to settle an illegal land dispute which I denied. He is doing all these to take revenge. I have done nothing wrong."...
