Gehlot hits out at state govt over delays in Civil Lines ROB project
Jaipur, March 28 -- Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday attacked the state government over the incomplete Civil Lines railway overbridge (ROB) project, highlighting its proximity to the chief minister's residence and alleging administrative apathy.
In a post on X , Gehlot said, "When this is the state of development just 100 metres from the chief minister's residence, one can imagine the condition of the rest of Rajasthan."
Referring to the Civil Lines ROB in Jaipur, Gehlot noted that the project was initiated in 2021 during his government to ease traffic congestion for the public.
"It is unfortunate that 2026 has arrived, but due to the BJP government's sluggishness and political vendetta, the project has now turned into an 'accident zone'," he said.
Questioning the government's priorities, the senior Congress leader asked, "Is politics above public convenience? The government must answer."
Gehlot also used the hashtag "#IntezaarShastra" to underline delays, intensifying his criticism of the current administration over infrastructure bottlenecks in the state.
Commenting on it, BJP state secretary Ekta Agarwal said the former CM has forgotten that the project, which started during his government, was delayed due to their wrongdoings and decisions. She added that it is only after the BJP government came to power that the project has picked up pace and will be completed this year....
