Jaipur, Nov. 25 -- Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government of "criminal negligence" to all the development works across the state. Addressing a press conference in Jodhpur, he said, "The BJP government has either stopped all the major schemes started by the previous government or left several development projects in the middle. It's criminal negligence. Crores of budgets are being wasted in this way." He criticised the BJP government further, adding, "When I came to power, I tried to advance the works started by (former CM) Vasundhara Raje. We did not stop them. But BJP's approach is opposite. They have stopped many of our major beneficial schemes such as free mobile phones for women, old pension scheme, and Indira Gandhi Rasoi Yojana. They must conduct a survey and finish the project which had been stalled in the middle." Reacting to Gehlot's comments on the government, state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Laxmikant Bharadwaj, said, "Whatever he is saying, is a lie. BJP government is serious about development works. Gehlot makes such bizarre comments only to get the media attention."...
