Jaipur, Dec. 6 -- The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) lodged an FIR against a lab technician from the forensic laboratory in Jaipur and his aide for accepting Rs.8 Lakh bribe to replace the DNA sample of two people accused of raping a minor, said officials. According to the ADG of the ACB, Smita Shrivastava, "The ACB received a complaint a month ago from the elder brother of the two accused that an individual, Ravi Meena, called him on behalf of forensic lab technician, Ram Babu Meena, and his aide Ravi Meena asking for a Rs.8 Lakh bribe to replace the DNA samples of his brothers." Following the complaint, the ACB deployed a constable at the forensic lab in Jaipur to verify his claim. "Soon after his claim was confirmed, we had laid out a plan to trap Ram Babu and his middleman Ravi red handed last week. We made the complainant negotiate with the accused and convinced to settle the matter at Rs.3 lakh," said Shrivastava. As per the plan, a team of the ACB sent the complainant with a bag containing the cash (including Rs.2.5 lakh in dummy notes and Rs.50,000 in real notes). "We also provided him with a hidden audio recorder and a GPS tracker while the team had been following them. Ravi and Ram Babu arrived at the spot, took the complainant to their house, took the money, and dropped him back to his place. However, they already fled the spot with the money when ACB reached to arrest them. The team had probably got delayed due to traffic on the road that day," said Shrivastava. ACB's team is now putting effort to trace their location and transaction of the money they fled with. Meanwhile, based on the audio record, the agency also lodged a case against Ram Babu and Ravi under necessary sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act on Thursday. Officials said the complainant's two brothers were sent to jail in October for raping a minor in Dausa....
