Four of a family killed after their mini bus rams into truck in Kota
Jaipur, July 14 -- Four members of a family died when a mini bus carrying them rammed into a truck on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in rural Kota on Sunday, police said.
Police said that the family of 14 people was returning to Karauli from in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, when the collision took place at 5am on the Chambal bridge of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Budhadeet village. "Due to the impact, two brothers died on the spot along with their mother and brother-in-law (sister's husband). However, the 10 people travelling with them sustained injuries. Seven of them, reported to be in critical condition, are being admitted at a nearby hospital," they said.
The deceased were identified as Suresh Soni (45), Brajesh Soni (45), Geeta Soni (63), and Anil Soni (48). Anil and Brajesh were brothers, and Geeta was their mother. Suresh was Geeta's son-in-law. While Anil and Brajesh were jewellers by profession, Suresh was a government school teacher posted in Bharatpur. The family was in Indore to attend Anil's son's engagement ceremony.
Condoling the incident, chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said in a post on X: "...District administration has been directed to ensure immediate medical treatment for the injured."...
